"Bill" Yockey --------------------------------------- MONTROSE - Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Yockey, of Montrose, died on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at the Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose at the age of 84. Elizabeth Marie Blair was born in Terrill, Iowa, on Sept. 22, 1919, the daughter of Dr. Milton Blair and Eda W. (Blum) Blair. She moved with her family to Norwood when she was a baby. Betty spent her childhood years, received her education and grew to adulthood in Norwood. In 1963 she moved from Olathe to Montrose where she remained until the time of her death. On Aug. 19, 1967, she was united in marriage with William S. "Bill" Yockey in Montrose. Betty and Bill had the privilege of sharing 34 wonderful years of marriage prior to Bill's death on Feb. 18, 2001, at Montrose. Before her retirement, Betty was employed as manager and nurse of an adult foster home. She was a nurse for many years and enjoyed taking care of older people. She especially loved and enjoyed her seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, Ann Cox, of Montrose. Treasured memories of Betty will always be a part of all those who loved her. Surviving family members who were blessed to share Betty's life include two sons: Joe Cox and wife Judy, of Wyoming; Ed Cox, of Montrose; seven special grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to both of her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her three husbands: Isaac Worth Cox, Harry Hillewaert and Bill Yockey; two sons: Worth Eugene Cox and Herbert Dwain Cox; and two brothers: Floyd Blair and Ernest Blair. --------------------- CHILDREN: Joe Blair Cox Edwin "Ed" Minor Cox Worth Eugene Cox 1938 Herbert Dwain Cox 1948
