Interment will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery at Dodge, NE. Betty passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Brighton Gardens of Omaha, NE. Elizabeth Marie Wisnieski was born on January 31, 1923 at Dodge, NE to G.J. and Lizzie (Vlach) Borgmeyer. She graduated from Dodge High School in 1940 as the Salutatorian. Betty worked at the Federal Land Bank in Dodge, NE. On April 20, 1942, she was united in marriage to Richard S. Wisnieski at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dodge, NE. Betty was a stay at home mother until she became the part-time bookkeeper for the Dodge Public Schools in 1959 after the superintendent was injured in an accident and inherited those duties. In 1969, Betty went to work fulltime for the school and retired after 28 years. She also had worked at the Parkview Home in Dodge. Betty was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, its Altar Society and Christian Mothers’. She was a member of the Dodge American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years and served as its president in 1951. She also had belonged to the church choir for many years at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting, where she made a quilt for each of the grandchildren and numerous baby quilts, crossword puzzles, puzzles and was an avid reader of the Omaha and Fremont newspapers. Betty also enjoyed participating in all of the activities while she was a resident of the Parkview Home. Betty loved spending time with her family and had her sense of humor all the way until the end. Survivors include- Daughter-Ann Marie and John Minarich of Omaha, NE and family Joe and Vanicsa Minarich of Omaha, NE Jake Minarich of Omaha, NE Daughter-Betty Jane and Frank Schuman of Omaha, NE and family Matt and Amy Schuman of Omaha and children-Abby and Brandt Liz and Cory Sobczyk of Gretna, NE Daughter-in-law- Nona Wisnieski of Dodge, NE and daughter- Jeri and Tony Ingemansen of Aberdeen, SD and children-Taylor and Carter Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Richard in 1984, and son Gerald in 2008."
