Elizabeth Marion Marten was born July 11, 1866, in the provence of Pommern, Germany, when but eighteen months old her parents moved to this country and settled in Cook Co., Ill., where she grw to womanhood. In 1886 she was united in marriage To Fred Wagner and to this union was born seven children. In 1886 she was united in marriage To Fred Wagner and to this union was born seven children. William, who died eighteen years ago, Mrs. Martha Beuchat, Mrs. Hattie Nehring, Mrs. Louis Rathbun, Carl, George and Edward all of this city. The family lived in Barrington, Ill., until fourteen years ago they moved to Oelwein where they have nade their home. Besides a husband, six children and thirteen grandchildren, she is survived by her mother Mrs. R. Marten, a sister Mrs. Anna Eisner, and two brothers, Henry and Frank, all of Barrington. She was a faithful student of the bible--a devoted mother-- a loving wife and she aquired a host of friends who knew her as a follower of the golden rule. She quietly passed away during the evening of Feb. 7th, after an illness of several months. The funeral services were conducted by the Christian Science Society at the family home 424 5th Ave. North and she was laid to rest in Woodlawn.
