Elizabeth Mary Hannon married John B. Schmidt on June 24, 1896, in Ottumwa, Iowa, at St. Mary’s Church. Libbie Schmidt married H.B. McLain on April 26, 1918, in Polk County, Iowa. Her name has been transcribed as Libbie Hannon in the record in ancestry.com. However, by clicking on the actual record and viewing the record, it may be seen that her name at the time of her marriage was Libbie Schmidt, and it was shown that this was her second marriage. Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier” MRS. LIBBIE McLAIN. Mrs. Libby [sic] McLain, 77, a native of Ottumwa died October 4 at Long Beach, Calif., where she has lived for 30 years. She was born Feb. 12, 1876, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Daniel and Libbie Hannon. She was a member of St. Mary’s church here. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Fitzgerald, Oswego, N.Y., and Mrs. Kate Canny and Mrs. Daisy Mowery, both of Ottumwa, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John B. Schmidt and Henry McLain, and by two sisters. The body will be sent to the Traul funeral home pending completion of arrangements. The family requests no flowers. Funeral Service Notice From “Ottumwa Courier” MRS. LIBBIE McLAIN Funeral services for Mrs. Libbie McLain, 77, a former Ottumwa resident who died Sunday at Long Beach, Calif., will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the Traul funeral home and at 9 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic church. A requiem high mass will be celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Walter E. Cullinan, pastor of St. Mary’s. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Members of St. Mary’s parish and friends will meet at 8 p.m. today at the Traul funeral home to recite the Rosary. The body arrived in Ottumwa at 8:30 today from California.
