ELIZABETH MARY ANGUS Elizabeth Mary Kingery, daughter of David and Sarah Jane Kingery, was born February 6, 1871 in Jasper County, Iowa and passed away November 27, 1952 at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 21 days. When she was very small, the family moved to Monroe County, Iowa and when she was seven years old the family came to Adams County where she has since resided. Early in life she united with the Church of the Brethren and lived a faithful and loyal Christian life. As long as health permitted, she was found in her place at every service. On February 12, 1890, she was united in marriage to Adam Angus. To this union were born five children. She operated the Mt. Etna Telephone Exchange for sixteen years. In the fall of 1948 she became ill with a heart ailment and was moved to the home of her daughter in Mt. Etna, where she lived until God called her Home. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Mrs. Lula Knee and husband, Charles; her son, Leo and wife Ruth; two grandchildren, Donna and Bobby Angus; and a step-granddaughter, Clara Knee. Also three sisters, Mrs. Laura Hickox, Mrs. Ella Allison, and Mrs. Lula Allison, all of Corning; two brothers, Chester Kingery of Corning and George Kingery of Mt. Etna, and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam; two sons, Oscar and Ralph; an infant daughter; two sisters, Mattie Kingery and Mrs. Irena Ellenwood; and a brother, Frank Kingery. The funeral was held at the Mt. Etna Church of the Brethren on Sunday, November 30 with services conducted by Rev. Oliver Davison, assisted by Rev. Delbert Smith. Music was furnished by Mrs. Ross Johnston. Mrs. Walton Boswell, Clarence Johnston and Charles Johnston, accompanied by Mrs. Stanley Evans. Pall bearers were Emmett Townsley, D. E. Hadley, Charles Reynolds, H. L. Holste, Walton Boswell, and Dave Sparks. Burial was in the Mt. Etna Cemetery.
