Description	:	Mrs Paul Laqua, who was buried Wednesday from the Catholic church of Waverly, was one of the pioneers of Codington county. Born in 1860 on October first, at Wabasha, Minn, her marriage to Paul Laqua occurred in 1878. Until 1881 they lived near her birth place, but in that year they came west to South Dakota making their home on a farm near Waverly. Read More	Mrs Paul Laqua, who was buried Wednesday from the Catholic church of Waverly, was one of the pioneers of Codington county. Born in 1860 on October first, at Wabasha, Minn, her marriage to Paul Laqua occurred in 1878. Until 1881 they lived near her birth place, but in that year they came west to South Dakota making their home on a farm near Waverly. In 1888 they moved to the city of Watertown, and have resided here continuously since that time. At the time of her death on May 14, she was forty-four years of age. She leaves a family of five devoted children, all of whom are living. The eldest is twenty five years of age, and the youngest eight, there being two sons and three daughters. Besides her family she leaves one brother and five sisters to mourn her untimely demise. She was a loving and good mother and a faithful wife. She was possessed of a Christian character, and loved by all who knew her. She was laid to rest in the cemetery at Waverly. She will be remembered as Miss Lizzie Markus, daughter of teh late Henry Markus of Glasgow. William Krull of this city, Mr and Mrs John Freeze of West Albany, and Edward Markus of Glasgow, left on the Pioneer Limited Sunday morning, to attend the funeral.
