Description	:	Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, April 1987 ELIZABETH COATNEY RITES APRIL 15 Elizabeth May Coatney was born May 11, 1903 in Stansbury, Missouri, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Nickelson Carlock. When she was a young girl, her parents moved to a homestead northwest of Wray, where they began ranching. She attended school at a rural school northwest of Wray. On May 11, 1921, she married Luther Coatney in Sterling. They made their home in the Holyoke area for 50 years, prior to their moving to Haxtun in 1971. Mr. Coatney died January 10, 1982. Mrs. Coatney continued to reside in Haxtun. Survivors include three sons Luther A. Coatney and wife Twila of Harrisonville, Missouri, Donald K. Coatney and wife Evelyn of Wray and Roy G. Coatney and wife Kimiko of Punta Gordo, Florida; brother Ephram Carlock of Amarillo, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Luther; a daughter; two grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Coatney died Saturday, April 11, 1987 at Logan County Hospital in Sterling at the age of 83. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 15, 1987 at 2 p.m. at the Church of The Brethren with Rev. Roy Pfaltzgraff officiating, with burial following in the Holyoke Memorial Park.
