Read More	Obituary Source: Obituary from the Montezuma Newspaper February 16, 1922. Lizzie May Kidwell, wife of Geo. M. Austin, died at her home four miles south of Montezuma, Wednesday, February 8, after an illness of only a few days due to pneumonia. Deceased was born, August 24,1871 at Avlon, Missouri, at the time of her death, she was 50 years, 5 months and 15 days old. She was united in marriage to Geo. M. Austin, May 20, 1894 at Avlon, Missouri. At the age of fourteen she gave her heart to Christ and Nov. 20, 1903 she united with the Christian church of Montezuma of which church she remained a faithful worker until the Lord saw fit to call her from the church militant to the church triumphant. There was never a more dutiful and loving wife and mother then Mrs. Austin and a more helpful neighbor. She loved her home and family and spared-nothing to promote their spiritual and material welfare. Her faith and trust in the Lord was always an example for her friends and loved ones to follow, and her departure will be mourned universally wherever her life has touched those of others. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints, God's hand touched her and she sleeps. She leaves to mourn an irreparable loss, a husband, one daughter and son-in-law, an aged father, two brothers and four sisters and a host of friends. Among those present at the funeral from a distance were her brother, W. W. Kidwell of Hale, Mo., and a sister Mrs. Maggie Sterling of Bedford, Mo., Hobert Moore of Des Moines, Bert Middleton and family of Creek, Mo., Jennie Baker of Thornburg, J. C. McKain and family of Tilton. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Montezuma on Friday, February 10th, at 1 p.m. conducted by Rev. E. M. Gregson. I hear a voice you cannot hear, which says I must not stay; I see a hand you cannot see which beckons me away.
