Description	:	Mrs. Elizabeth McFarland Nichols, so well known as Aunt Betty Nichols, was born in Champaign county, near the place with the city of Urbana now stands., February 23, 1808. She was married to John Nichols December 26 1826, and departed this life October 3, 1896, at the age of 88 years, 7 months, and 10 days. Mrs. Nichols was converted and joined the M. E. Church in her youth, and lived a devout Christian life all her days. She was the mother of seven children, four having preceded her to the spirit land. A portion of her life was spent... Read More	Mrs. Elizabeth McFarland Nichols, so well known as Aunt Betty Nichols, was born in Champaign county, near the place with the city of Urbana now stands., February 23, 1808. She was married to John Nichols December 26 1826, and departed this life October 3, 1896, at the age of 88 years, 7 months, and 10 days. Mrs. Nichols was converted and joined the M. E. Church in her youth, and lived a devout Christian life all her days. She was the mother of seven children, four having preceded her to the spirit land. A portion of her life was spent in the State of Illinois, but for the past four years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Dennis Denny, who with her husband, was ever ready to minister to her needs. Her last sickness was of but few hours' duration. She so sweetly fell asleep in Jesus. Truly it can be said of her, she "has fought the fight; she has kep the faith; henceforth there is laid up for her a crow of righteousness that fadeth not away." The funeral services were conducted at the home by her pastor, Rev. Gascoigne, assisted by Rev. DeWeese. Interment in Bellefontaine cemetery. DeGraff Journal, DeGraff, OH, 9 October 1896
