Tate, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.L. Ross, of the Double Springs Baptist Church section north of Greer, Monday morning at 8:30, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Double Springs Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. J. Dean Crain and the Rev. J.E. McJunkin. The interment will follow in the family plot in the adjoining Church cemetery beside her husband who died six years ago. The following grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Ansel Ross, Lee Johnson, Roy Johnson, Hugh Waters, Joe Waters and Dewey Waters. The following are asked to assemble at the Double Springs Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and serve as honorary escort: John Dill, Drayton Barbare, Fred Andrea, Richard Howell, Baxter Howard and Lawrence Thompson Mrs. Tate was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rebecca Rochester Reid and has made her home in this section for a number of years and was well known and loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted member of the Double Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are eight children, four daughters and four sons, as follows, Mrs. E.L. Ross, Mrs. T.L. Johnson, Mrs. James I. Hightower and Mrs. Ben Robertson, James A. Tate, H.E. Tate, E.G. Tate and Dewey Tate, also 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pending the hour to leave for the funeral, the body will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.L. Ross, near Double Springs Baptist Church.
