A gallant soul, modern in mind to the last she will be lovingly remembered by everyone for many years to come. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock on Thursday of this week from the Methodist church with the Olerich Funeral Co. in charge of all arrangements. Elizabeth Ritter was born in Welges, Germany on October 18th, 1848. In 1868 she was married to George Ritter and in 1871 the young couple came to the United States of America and settled in Benton county, Iowa. It was in 1878 that the Ritter family came to Sac county to live on a farm near Wall Lake until their retirement in 1902 when they came to live in Lake View. Following the death of her husband in 1909 "Grandma" has made her home with her children of whom there were seven. She has been a member of the Methodist church, a member of the Rebekah lodge and of the Relief Corps always doing her part in the activities of each. A month ago she went to visit with her daughter, Mrs. Irwin at Jackson, Michigan. About two weeks ago her health began a rapid decline and death came to her on January 4th. She was preceded in death by a son, who died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. J.W. Wright who died in 1922. Surviving her are one son: C.A. Ritter of Sac City; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Parsons of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. C.P. Irwin of Jackson, Mich.; Mrs. C.T. Ganger of Petersen, Iowa; and Mrs. F.E. Cleveland of Lake View; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson. The Lake View Resort - 1/8/1942 -
