Templin, publisher of the Shelton Clipper) Elizabeth Schimpff was born November 24, 1863 in Ottumwa, Ia. She passed away June 22, 1933, at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 28 days. She moved with her parents to Nebraska while a girl. She was united in marriage to Wellington G. Rooker February 17, 1887. To this union seven children were born, three of whom and her husband preceded her in death. She was again united in marriage to Bernhard Wiest May 4, 1926, at Shelton, Neb. She had for years been a faithful member of the United Brethren Church of which her former husband was a faithful pastor. She was also an active member in the Eastern Star and the Woman’s Relief Corps. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Bernard Wiest of Shelton, two sons, Ernest of Shelton and Rollo of Long Beach Cal., and two daughters, Mrs. Neil Hoffman of Denver, Col., and Mrs. Gladys Cox of Long Beach, Cal., also three sisters, two brothers, three grandchildren and a host of friends. The funeral was held in the Shelton Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Sunday in the charge of Rev. J. R. Mouer of the United Brethren Church. The body was taken overland to Geneva for interment beside her former husband, Rev. W. G. Rooker. The Nebraska Signal 29 June 1933 front page.
