Description	:	Elizabeth Van Pelt, daughter of Job and Charity Van Pelt was born June 25, 1844 in (Guernsey Co) Ohio. The family came to Iowa when Elizabeth was four years old. In 1861, when Elizabeth was 17 years of age she united with the Reformed Church. On September 23, 1866 she was married to William H. Watters at Otter Creek. Read More	Elizabeth Van Pelt, daughter of Job and Charity Van Pelt was born June 25, 1844 in (Guernsey Co) Ohio. The family came to Iowa when Elizabeth was four years old. In 1861, when Elizabeth was 17 years of age she united with the Reformed Church. On September 23, 1866 she was married to William H. Watters at Otter Creek. The surviving members of the family are the husband and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Lewis Hess of Holcomb, WI, Mrs. Melvin Isbell, Walcott, Iowa, Mrs. Joseph Sawdey, Delmar, IA, Mrs. Sherman LaFayette, Welton, Iowa, Mrs. Harry Hayes, Clinton, Iowa, Mrs. Chris Vohringer, Maquoketa, IA; William Watters, Zwingle; David Watters of Fulton, IL, Samuel Watters and Frank Watters of Hurstville and Deloss Watters, Maquoketa. Other relatives are a sister, Mrs. William Powers, Dayton; two brothers, Samuel of Davenport and Robert Van Pelt of Austin, MN, fifty seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. For several months, Mrs. Watters was ill with Bright's disease. She suffered much but patiently. Death came December 21 at 2 a.m. 1920. Her life of toil and care with its joys and happiness was extended to seventy-six years, five months and twenty six days. A faithful wife and loving mother has been called to her reward. Her helpful influence remains to strengthen and encourage the living to so live that the family circle may be complete in Heaven. Her going was peaceful and the great resurrection brings to all who are faithful unto death the neverending life of the redeemed. The funeral serivce was held Thursday 2:30 p.m. in the Methodist Episcopal church, by the pastor, Edward A. Lang. The place of burial is Mount Hope Cemetery.
