Description	:	E. Victoria Becker, 96, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Home of Kissimmee, Fla., on Sunday, May 3. Victoria was born on Nov. 26, 1918, at the Waldorf College Campus in Forest City, a daughter of Olaf and Elisabeth Bjertness. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. On Sept. 28, 1938, she married Carl Becker. Since then they have lived in Wisconsin and Florida. Carl died Oct. 17, 1996. Read More	E. Victoria Becker, 96, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Home of Kissimmee, Fla., on Sunday, May 3. Victoria was born on Nov. 26, 1918, at the Waldorf College Campus in Forest City, a daughter of Olaf and Elisabeth Bjertness. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. On Sept. 28, 1938, she married Carl Becker. Since then they have lived in Wisconsin and Florida. Carl died Oct. 17, 1996. Victoria was a strong woman of faith who made her house a home of love, who fervently volunteered in many and varied areas, even receiving national recognition for her voluntary service, who was an avid world traveler, and who supported her husband in all his pursuits. She enjoyed bowling and golf, was a master at cross-stitch and needlepoint, enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, cooked for four hungry boys, was known for her Norwegian cooking and baking, and was very proud of her Norwegian heritage, being a descendant of Norwegian royalty. Losing her father and all three brothers at an early age had an impact on her life that she felt all her years. Her church membership, participation in church activities, and faith were a very important part of who she was. Victoria was preceded in death by her father, the Rev. Olaf Bjertness, and her step-father and mother the Rev C.S. and Elisabeth (Hagen) Thorpe; her husband the Rev. Carl A. Becker; three brothers, Harold, Luther, and Sigrid. She is survived by four sons, Mike (Susan), of Pisgah Forest, N.C., Jon (Sharon), of Hudson, Wis., Ted (Sally), of Prescott, Ariz., and Tim, of Racine, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, and Adam Becker, Joshua and Steve Becker, Bart Becker, and Alyssa Riegelman; six great-grandchildren, Davis, Lila, Christian, Anna, Marvin and Calvin; and a sister Adelaide (Bjertness) Stenehjem, of Williston, N.D. Memorial services were held at Good Samaritan Village Community Church, Kissimmee, Fla., on Wednesday, May 13, at 2 p.m., and at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly, on Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m. Family and friends are welcome an hour before each service. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Waverly. In lieu of flowers, please give a gift to Habitat for Humanity in Victoria's memory.
