Description	:	Elizabeth, daughter of Martin and Marie Weiss, was born near Liberty, Adams county, Illinois, November 19, 1861, and departed this life at her home near Lebanon January 17,1918, being at the time of her death 56 years, 1 month, and 29 days. Read More	Elizabeth, daughter of Martin and Marie Weiss, was born near Liberty, Adams county, Illinois, November 19, 1861, and departed this life at her home near Lebanon January 17,1918, being at the time of her death 56 years, 1 month, and 29 days. She was united in marriage to John W. Kritzman, February 26, 1885, at Quincy Illinois, and immediately after her marriage came to Iowa where she has since lived. To this union were born seven children, namely, Hannah M., Alma I., Edith P., Clara E. and Elmer E., who reside at home, and Mrs. Edward Shobe of near Milton and Wallace J. of Ottumwa, all of whom were at her bedside the last few days of her illness. Besides her immediate family left to mourn her death are one granddaughter Elizabeth Norene Shobe, one daughter-in-law Mrs. Wallace J. Kirtzman, and one son-in-law Edward Shobe, also three sisters and two brothers, namely: Mrs. Fred Ryniker, Mrs. Julius Gehm, and Martin Weiss of Quincy, Illinois, Mrs. Kathryn Bauer of St. Louis Missouri, and William Weiss of Milton. At the age of fourteen, she united with the German Lutheran church in Liberty and later transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal church at Lebanon and continued a true and faithful member until in the stillness of the night at the hour of eleven, her Master said to her, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord." She was a beautiful character, being a true and faithful wife, kind and loving mother, and a good neighbor. She was a member of the Ladies Aid society of Lebanon and was always present at their meetings whenever her health would permit. For the past two years she has been gradually failing in health, but was a patient sufferer. She loved her family and her desire was to be with them until near the last of her sufferings when she expressed to her family her willingness to go. Funeral services were from the Lebanon M.E. church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.H. Jones Sunday at 1 p.m. Music was furnished by a quartet from the church. The text was taken from II Timothy 4: 7-8 as suggested by her, the same being used at her mother's funeral less that two years ago. The scripture read was John 14 being her favorite chapter of the Bible. Those in attendance from a distance was Mrs. Julius Gehm, Mrs. Fred Ryniker and Martin Weiss of Quincy, Illinois, and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Kritzman of Ottumwa. She will be greatly missed in the home where she had all the qualities of a cheerful, comfortable homemaker. (Bio. thanks to contributor 48493052)
