Patterson The Mono Centre neighborhood lost an old and widely known resident last week through the death of Mrs. William Patterson, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. M. Turnbull, Mono Centre, on Saturday, in her 79th year. Mrs. Patterson had suffered from rheumatism for a number of years, but had been in her usual health until a month ago when she had the misfortune to fall. The resultant shock proved a severe strain and she had failed rapidly since the accident. Deceased, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Wilson, was a daughter of the late Peter Wilson and was born on lot 17, 1st line, east, Mono. After her marriage to Mr. Patterson 57 years ago she moved to lot 16, 2nd line, east, where she resided continuously up to a few years ago. Her husband died about three years ago. Her loss is keenly mourned by a family of three sons and six daughters, namely, William H., Rosemont, Jas. E. and C. H., Orangeville, Mrs. A. M. Turnbull, Mrs. Jas. Henry and Mrs. Ernest Avison, Mono Centre, Mrs. A. K. Henry, Horning's Mills, Mrs. Samuel Ewing, Toronto, and Mrs. Sydney Bateman, Baldur, Man. The late Mrs. Patterson was one of the oldest members of Burns' Church, Mono Centre. She was a kindly, warm-hearted neighbor, a loving, dutiful wife and an affectionate mother. In the community in which her life was spent she was held in the highest esteem and her passing will be keenly regretted by many old friends who extend their sympathy to the mourning family. The funeral, which was quite largely attended, was held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Turnbull to Burns' Church Cemetery, Mono Centre, on Monday afternoon, the remains, which reposed in a rich, oak casket, being given interment in the family plot and placed close beside the grave of her husband. Rev. William Coutts, of Camilla, conducted the services. The pallbearers were the three sons and three sons-in-law Messrs. S. Ewing, A. M. Turnbull and Ernest Avison. The floral tributes included a beautiful pillow from the family. The late Mrs. Patterson is survived by one brother William Wilson, of Estevan, Sask. and two sisters, Mrs. Alex. Patterson, Camilla, and Mrs. Philip Allchin, Hamilton.
