Description	:	Mrs. Henry De Mots passed away early Monday morning, May 10, 1948 at the age of 74 years. Mrs. De Mots, nee Ella Beernink, was born on the Beernink homestead two miles southwest of Sioux Center on Nov. 4, 1873. On August 25, 1892 she was united in marriage to Henry De Mots, who preceded her in death, passing away on August 1, 1911 at the age of 43 years. She is now survived by four children Wm. E. Mrs. De Mots, nee Ella Beernink, was born on the Beernink homestead two miles southwest of Sioux Center on Nov. 4, 1873. On August 25, 1892 she was united in marriage to Henry De Mots, who preceded her in death, passing away on August 1, 1911 at the age of 43 years. She is now survived by four children Wm. E. De Mots of Los Angeles, Calif., Maude (Mrs. Eugene Edwards) of Los Angeles, Calif., Leone (Mrs. Ben Nicholson) also of Los Angeles, and Lawrence A. De Mots of Sioux Falls, So. Dakota. She is further survived by 3 grandchildren Jack De Mots of Los Angeles, Muriel De Mots of Sioux Falls, So. Dak., and Lavonne Hariston of Okoboji, Iowa. There are two great grandchildren. Also two sisters Hattie (Mrs. G.J. Ellerbroek) of Okoboji, Iowa and Johanna (Mrs. G. D. Siemen) of Sioux Center, and three brothers Simon, Henry, and Reuben, all of Sioux Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Gilbert who died on Feb. 19, 1903 at the age of four years and two grandchildren EJlen Nickolson of Le Mars who died on Nov. 23, 1941 at the ace of 13 years and Robert Wm. De Mots who died on April 22, 1942 at West Point at the age of 19. The departed was a member of the Central Reformed Church, as also of the Ladies Aid Society of that church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at one o'clock at the home of her sister, Mr and Mrs. G. D. Siemen and at one thirty at the Central Reformed church. Rev. Benjamin Ver Steeg will officiate and burial will take place at the local cemetery. Sioux Center News 1948-05-13.
