Sanley, 88, formerly of Rising City, died Tuesday, Nov. 9,2010, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Faith Lutheran Church in Rising City, with the Rev. David Schultz officiating. Committal will be in the Faith West Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, with family present, at Kracl Funeral Chapel in David City, continuing 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, at the church. Memorials suggested to family wishes. Lunch served at the Church Fellowship Hall. Ella was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Surprise, to John and Anna (Abraham) Hans. On April 13, 1946, she married Grant Sanley in Rising City. They lived in Canada for a while and then farmed near Surprise. Ella also worked at Dale Electronics in Columbus and had operated Ella's Cafe and the Laundromat in Rising City for many years. Ella was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and the Rising City American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Ella is survived by one daughter, Marla (Robert) Richter, of Lincoln; three sons, Grant H. "Hank" (Kathy) Sanley, of Pittsburgh, Kan., and Monty (Candice) Sanley and Rick (Cindy) Sanley, all of Rising City; one brother, Lawrence (Nancy) Hans, of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant daughter; one sister, Anna Suhr; and nine brothers, Ervin, Orvill, Martin, John, twins, Willis and Wallace, Elmer, Bob and Ray.
