She was born July 30, 1916 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Jacob and Lydia (Schumacher) Gohl. She lived in the Yakima Valley for most of her life. On May 27, 1937 she married Raymond "Bud" Green. She was born July 30, 1916 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Jacob and Lydia (Schumacher) Gohl. She lived in the Yakima Valley for most of her life. On May 27, 1937 she married Raymond "Bud" Green. Together they raised five children. Ella was a wonderful mom, grandmother and homemaker. She wasn't a complainer and was always there to help others. Ella was strong-willed and firm in her beliefs. A hard worker, she packed apples for forty-five years. Ella and Bud loved to camp and travel. After Bud passed away, she enjoyed quilting and was an avid reader. As a young girl Ella played basketball. She also loved baseball and was a fan of the Yakima Beetles and Seattle Mariners. Ella was known for her friendliness, her beautiful smile, her beautiful quilts, cooking, candies, pies, and homemade breads (No one left Ella's place hungry). She was a long-standing member of the Ahtanum Pioneer Church and had a deep faith in God. Ella was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Emma Campbell and granddaughter Sarah Green. She is survived by her five children, Shirlee (Gary) Pue, Patricia (Gary) Carey, Barry (Gayle) Green, Dan (Jayne) Green, and John (Patti) Green all of Yakima; twelve grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren; her sisters, Bertha (Russ) Berglund of Pasco, WA and Ida (Dean) Orndorff of Yakima, and her brother, Elmer (Dean) Gohl of Yakima, two sisters-in-law, Mary Green and Virginia Higginbottom. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. "TO MOM" God saw you were getting tired � a cure was not to be. So He put His arm around you and whispered "Come With Me." With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we would not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating � hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. "We Love You Mom" A special thanks to all the caregivers and staff at Alterra Wynwood and Sun Towers. Thanks to all the doctors, nurses and Jan at Cornerstone. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Ella's memory may contribute to Yakima Valley Memorial Home Care Hospice or your favorite charity. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Concluding services and burial will follow in West Hills Memorial Park.
