Services will be held at 10 a.m. CDT Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with the Rev. Mary Lou Aune officiating. Burial will follow at the Beulah City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. CDT today at Barbot-Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah. Ella was born in Hazen, on May 30, 1915, to Gottlieb and Katherine (Sailer) Oster. She grew up on the farm and attended country school. On Feb. 4, 1934, she married Ervin Krukenburg. They were married for one and a half years when he passed away. On Sept. 26, 1937, she married Harold Heihn of Beulah. They had two children, Gerald and Lou Ella. They farmed north of Beulah until Harold's death in 1958. On July 1, 1964, she married Paul Brenner of Beulah. Together they built a new home in southwest Beulah where she lived until moving into the Senior Suites at Sakakawea, Hazen. In October of 2010, she moved into Knife River Care Center, where she has since lived. Ella enjoyed gardening, sewing, embroidering and crocheting, which she loved the most. Ella loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Ella is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald (Selma) Heihn, Beulah; one daughter, Lou Ella Smith (Ron Fix), Hazen; one step-son and step daughter-in-law, Clyde (Judy) Brenner, Exeder, Calif.; six grandchildren, Joyce (Kevin) Renner, and Lori (Tim) Siira Jeremy Smith, Jennifer (Brett) Rudolph, Michael Smith, Gary (Dannielle) Smith; two step-grandchildren, Heidi (Tony) Hayatgheyb, and Christopher (Rebecca) Brenner; seven great-grandchildren, Randi (Matthew) Voegele, Casey (Renee) Renner, Chrae Smith, Ivy Willer, and Jayden Smith, Ariel and Dorian Smith; six step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ervin Kruckenberg; second husband, Harold Heihn; and third husband, Paul Brenner; two brothers, Herbert (Albert) and Arthur; and three sisters, Bertha Neuberger, Lena Oster, and Anne Wyant.
