In her early childhood she moved with her parents to Minooka, Illinois. She was married to Franklin P. Hitchcock Sept. 17, 1879 and made their home near Muscatine, Iowa until the Spring of 1883 when they moved to a farm near Cherokee, Kansas, where they lived until the Spring of 1904 when they moved to Kansas City, Mo., which has been their home since. Mrs. Hitchcock lived a good life and was a member of the Linwood Boulevard Methodist Church in Kansas City. After a long illness, Mrs. Hitchcock died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Germain at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 10 days. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Germain, and four grandchildren of Seattle, Wash. The body was brought to Cherokee and taken to the home of Mrs. Lola Lucas Sunday P.M. where it was held until Monday afternoon when it was taken to the Methodist Church where funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. E.L. Torrence, assisted by Rev. Clinton Cook of the Presbyterian church. The body was laid to rest by that of her husband in the Cherokee cemetery. In our boyhood days we visited many times at the Hitchcock home and knew then all well. Mrs. Hitchcock was a fine woman. The two boys are both dead and this leaves Mrs. Germain the only one living of this family. We can certainly sympathize with her in this bereavement.
