Read More	Garden County News (Oshkosh, Nebraska), May 2, 1935, Ella Jane Eggers Ella Jane Rittenhouse, daughter of Thomas and Mary Rittenhouse, was born in Jefferson county, Penn., on February 6, 1877, and passed away at her home in Lewellen on April 27, 1935, at the age of 58 years, 2 months and 21 days. In August 1888 she moved with her parents to what is now Garden county, Nebr., and her she has since made her home. On August 23, 1894, she was united in marriage to Elmer Eggers at Chappell, and to this union three daughters were born. One daughter, Alice, preceded her mother in death; Vina, who is at home, and Mrs. Vern Nelson of Lewellen. Mrs. Eggers joined the Methodist Episcopal church in 1896 in which relationship she remained a devout christian until the end of her days. She was a loving wife, a faithful mother and a true friend to all who knew her. She ministered to the sick and never failed to hive a helping hand in cheerful service where it was needed. The illness which terminated in her death was a year or more in duration, but through it all she was patient and hopeful. She loved life and wanted to live on for awhile longer, had the Lord willed it so, but her own testimony was that she was ready to meet God in peace. Besides her husband and two daughters, she leaves to mourn her passing two brothers, Merle and Leon Rittenhouse, both of Lewellen; one sister, Sarah Mylander of Aurora, Ill.; a number of other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church in Lewellen, Rev. T. Elmer Smith delivering the sermon, burial was in the Ash Hollow cemetery.
