Description	:	Mrs. J. F. Gordon Dies After Long Illness. Mrs. J. F. Gordon died at the home of her son, Mr. C. B. Gordon, in west Monroe township about seven o'clock yesterday morning. Death resulted from cancer with which she had been ill for about a year. Mrs. Gordon was about seventy-two-years-old. She was born in Cabarrus county and her maiden name was Miss Julia Howell. Gordon, in west Monroe township about seven o'clock yesterday morning. Death resulted from cancer with which she had been ill for about a year. Mrs. Gordon was about seventy-two-years-old. She was born in Cabarrus county and her maiden name was Miss Julia Howell. Surviving her are seven children, five sons and two daughters. The sons are Messrs. L. Z. Gordon of Atlanta, C. B. Gordon of west Monroe township, T. V. Gordon of Raleigh, Carl and Oscar Gordon of Monroe township. The daughters are Mrs. J. C. Winchester of west Monroe township and Mrs. Fannie Helms of Gastonia. Her husband, the late J. F. Gordon, a Confederate veteran, died several months ago. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Gordon made her home with her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Winchester. She had been in ill health for more than a year and was spending the Christmas holidays with her son, Mr. C. B. Gordon when she was taken worse, dying yesterday morning. She was a woman of Christian character and a faithful member of the Baptist church. Her labors for her family and loved ones were untiring. All who knew her respected her.
