Ella Louvica Fenstermacher was born on February 13th, 1878 in Adair, Iowa to George Albert and Maria 'Mariah' (Bloom) Fenstermacher. She married Henry August Peters in February 10th, 1897. On March 2nd, 1902 Henry and Ella bought land in South Dakota, and arrived there in September that year. Ella Louvica Fenstermacher was born on February 13th, 1878 in Adair, Iowa to George Albert and Maria 'Mariah' (Bloom) Fenstermacher. She married Henry August Peters in February 10th, 1897. On March 2nd, 1902 Henry and Ella bought land in South Dakota, and arrived there in September that year. On September 17, 1919: Ella and Henry had an auction and later traded farm for town property on August 24th, 1921. On February 22, 1922 Henry and Ella filed bankruptcy after moving to Huron, SD. Because of the embarrassment both Henry and Ella decided to leave for Canada on January 11th, 1923 and travelled through cities of Swift Current and Regina in Saskatchewan while staying at friends (The Thompkin's) during Feburary 1923. In that spring, (April 7, 1923); They came to stay with daughter Clara Peters (Stewart) in Mitchell, SD. In 1929 or 1930; Ella and Henry had divorced. On June 7th 1933 Ella had opened a grocery store less than a half a mile east of Hurson, SD in Morningside, SD. She met Eugene Burton Cook at the 7 Day Advent Church in Huron and later married him. He died in the mid-1950's. After 1970; daughter Verna Maria Rogers assisted and cared for Ella. On February 13th, 1968; Ella Cook celebrated her 90th birthday in Huron, South Dakota. Present were her children: Mrs. Verna Rogers, Mrs. Edith Brandenburg, Huron; Mrs. Clara Shepard, of Pipestone, Minnesota; Mrs. Loretta Quick of Buena, Washington; and Ralph Peters of Pierre, South Dakota. Gladys Moulton of Rialto California did not attend the event. Mrs Cook said, "If someone had told me 35 years ago that or even 5 years ago that I would live to be 90 I would not have believed them.: She is fairly good health, eats "three squares a day" and enjoys her radio. Mrs. Cook has been a resident of South Dakota since 1903 and Huron since 1922. She died at the age of 98 in her home at 223 Illinois Ave SW in 1976. During her later years she was blind by glaucoma.
