Allen Spouse's Mother's Name: Alcinda Long Dec 3, 1925 - Carroll Times - Mrs. Wilbur Sturges died at the home of her sister in Grimes, Ia., Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock. When news of her death spread through Carroll Wednesday morning much sympathy was felt for the husband and the members of the W.E. Sturges family. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at Des Moines and the body will reach Carroll Friday morning on No. 17. There will be no services here but burial will take place immediately. Arrangements will be made to open the casket at the grave to give her many Carroll friends an opportunity to see their beloved friend. While it was known by Carroll friends that Mrs. Sturges was in a serious condition, it was not known even by the immediate members of her family until Monday that she could not recover. Before her marriage about four years ago she was Miss Ella Mae Allen and was an instructor in the public schools of this city. Until about seven months ago she was apparently in perfect health. When illness fastened itself upon her the best medical skill of the profession was consulted and every conceivable thing was done to restore her to health. It was only recently that she visited at the Sturges home in this city and although far from well, her friends marveled at the bravery and good nature which she displayed when her condition was so far from satisfactory. Besides her husband she is survived by her father and several brothers and sisters.
