Read More	Wenatchee World - Tuesday, December 27, 2011 Ella Mae Houston Omak, WA Ella Mae Houston, 84, of Omak, WA, passed away at the Tonasket Hospital on December 24, 2011. What a Christmas present for dad, where she is joining him in Heaven. She was born on March 26, 1927, to Lee and Nella Brooks in Mansfield, WA. She married B.W. Houston at Santa Monica, CA on June 3, 1945. They were married for 52 years, until Wayne passed away. She worked for the Omak School District as a cook for 20 years. She volunteered at the Omak Information Center; was a member of the Omak Kiwanis, where she was the Secretary and organized the Art in the Park and also worked in the food booth when needed; helped with the Christmas basket; updated the books for the Historical Society; helped with the Balloon Rendezvous; helped the Omak Chamber of Commerce; and she was a member of Tops and numerous other organizations. She was also a member of the Omak Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her four children, Craig (Julie) Houston, Doug (Paige) Houston, Loretta Houston and Linda (Jim) Gavin. She also had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, B. Wayne Houston; parents, Lee and Nella Brooks; brother, Tom Brooks; and sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Buchanan. Visitation for Ella will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel on Elmway in Okanogan. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at the Omak Presbyterian Church in Omak. A Graveside will follow the church service at the Omak City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send checks for the Okanogan County Fair Grounds. Mom loved judging the food at the fair and also going to it. Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel is caring for the arrangements.
