Description	:	Ella M. (Morgan) Ewer, 93, of Elwood died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Lexington Regional Health Center. Ella was born July 21, 1918, at Hoxie, Kan., to Harley and Clara (Field) Morgan. On July 8, 1939, she married William "Byron" Ewer at Hayes, Kansas. He died in June 1978. The couple's union was blessed with 3 children, Joyce, Larry and Galen. Ella and Byron would move to Elwood in the early 1950's; where they would spend the rest of their married lives together. Ella had several part time jobs while raising her children including... Read More	Ella M. (Morgan) Ewer, 93, of Elwood died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Lexington Regional Health Center. Ella was born July 21, 1918, at Hoxie, Kan., to Harley and Clara (Field) Morgan. On July 8, 1939, she married William "Byron" Ewer at Hayes, Kansas. He died in June 1978. The couple's union was blessed with 3 children, Joyce, Larry and Galen. Ella and Byron would move to Elwood in the early 1950's; where they would spend the rest of their married lives together. Ella had several part time jobs while raising her children including teaching piano, clerking at the post office and as secretary for the Elwood Public Schools where she worked for 15 years. In recent years, Ella had made the Elwood Care Center her home, where she made many friends. Ella was a long-time member of the Elwood United Methodist Church. Among her enjoyments were music and craftwork. She was also a dedicated volunteer for the American Red Cross and served as county chair of the Cancer Society. Survivors are: sons; Larry (Geri) Ewer of Roslyn, PA, Galen (Carma) Ewer of Sandy, UT; sisters, Lillian Frazey of Hoxie, KS, Doris Bunting of Greeley, CO; son-in-law, Charles Cunningham of MO; 11 grandchildren; the stepmother of three grandchildren, Charlene Wendt of Lincoln; and a host of relatives and friends. Ella was preceded in death by: daughter, Joyce Cunningham; parents; brother, Leo Morgan; sisters, Edith Jamison and Esther Welty. Burial was in the Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, NE.
