Description	:	Mrs. Ella Marie Hollander, the daughter of John and Kate (Schuett) Berger, was born July 17, 1898 in Doon, Ia. She lived her youth in the Doon and Hull area where she received her early education. In 1910 she moved with her family to Amherst, S.D. and in 1918 to Lake City, S.D. She was united in marriage to John C. Hollander on December 28, 1921. They farmed near Sibley, Ia; Brookings, S.D., Hull and Boyden, Ia., retiring in 1958. Read More	Mrs. Ella Marie Hollander, the daughter of John and Kate (Schuett) Berger, was born July 17, 1898 in Doon, Ia. She lived her youth in the Doon and Hull area where she received her early education. In 1910 she moved with her family to Amherst, S.D. and in 1918 to Lake City, S.D. She was united in marriage to John C. Hollander on December 28, 1921. They farmed near Sibley, Ia; Brookings, S.D., Hull and Boyden, Ia., retiring in 1958. She continued to live her retired years at her farm home north of Boyden. Ella was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Hull, where she was an active member in the Mary-Martha Society. She passed away at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon, on Sunday, March 17, 1991 at the age of 92 years and eight months. Those left to cherish her memory are: one son, John R. and his wife Darlene Hollander of Boyden; two daughters, Elaine Brandhorst of Hudson, la.; Alta Mae and husband Donald Claus of Spencer; two step sons, Ernest and wife Luella Hollander of Matlock and Rudolf and wife Wanda Hollander of Danville, IN.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Marie Eikamp of Havana, N.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother; three sisters; one son-in-law and one grandchildren. Sioux County Index 1991-04-03.
