Description	:	Ella S.C. Buss, 93, of Adams, died at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams on Saturday July 1, 2006. She was born February 28, 1913 at Sterling. She graduated from Sterling High School and taught school for six years. She married John Buss on May 30, 1937 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Sterling and was a lifelong homemaker. She was also a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and had served with the Lutheran Women Missionary League. Buss, 93, of Adams, died at the Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams on Saturday July 1, 2006. She was born February 28, 1913 at Sterling. She graduated from Sterling High School and taught school for six years. She married John Buss on May 30, 1937 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Sterling and was a lifelong homemaker. She was also a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and had served with the Lutheran Women Missionary League. She also sang in the church choir and had been a Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Sterling and was a Member at Large of the Seward Concordia Guild. She enjoyed gardening and canning. Survivors include one daughter Carol Bradley and husband Albert of Pasadena, Texas. Three grandchildren, Richelle Bradley, Jerome Bradley and Marsha Bradley Hunzeker and her husband Scott. One sister Marlene Janssen of Lincoln. Two sisters-in-law Gertrude Rathe of Lincoln and Frieda Rathe of Sterling and one brother-in-law Ralph Bentzinger of Lincoln. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents August and Lena Heussmann Rathe, husband John Buss, who died March 13, 1993 and three brothers Herbert, Orvin and Dalen Rathe and one sister Irma Bentzinger. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, 2006 at 10:30A.M.at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Sterling with Vicar Elmer Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery. A family prayer service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday in the fellowship hall of the church. A memorial has been established to the Lutheran Hour and Immanuel Lutheran Church with the church elders in charge. The body will lie in state at the Zink-Fox Funeral Home of Sterling on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and then at the church one hour preceding the service on Monday. A guestbook for signatures and messages of condolence is available online at www.foxfuneralhome.net. Zink-Fox Funeral Home of Sterling is in charge of the arrangements.
