Her maiden name was Ellen Bush and her native state, Pennsylvania where she was united in marriage with John Strader, the young couple coming to Iowa later and locating at Colesburg. Strader at the age of seventy nine years. Her maiden name was Ellen Bush and her native state, Pennsylvania where she was united in marriage with John Strader, the young couple coming to Iowa later and locating at Colesburg. Four sons came to bless their home, Newton, Charles, George and William. George died in infancy and Newton in mature life. The husband and father died forty five years ago. Mrs. Strader had been in failing health for several years but was not confined to h er bed until about one week prior to her death. She suffered a stroke of paralysis and failed gradually until the end came peacefully at the time stated above. The funeral services were held from her late home Sunday afternoon and interment made at the Brown cemetery. She is survived by her two sons, Charles of this place and William of St. Paul, and five grandchildren, besides a circle of other relatives and friends. A consistent member of the Congregational church for many years, she was prepared for the great change. The passing was to her a sweet release from her bondage of sickness and pain to rest, sweet and eternal. During all the years of her invalidism she has been tenderly cared for and faithfully watched over by her son, Charles and wife.
