Description	:	Final rites were held at the Schack funeral home Saturday, May 10 for Mrs Knud Hansen, 82 who died at the Clarkson hospital in Omaha Thursday night. Mrs Hansen broke her hip at her home here ten days previous to her passing and complications followed. The Rev. E.J. Arnold of the Congregational church conducted the service. Mrs Floy Sorenson, soloist, was accompanied by Donna Jean Petersen. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery. Ellen Christine Nissen, daughter of Helena and John Nissen, was born on July 11, 1870 and departed this life on May 8, 1952. She married Knud Hansen and they located in Harlan where Mr Hansen purchased and operated a mercantile business until his death in 1911. To this union were born two children, Mrs Marie (Vern) Byers of Des Moines and Mrs Helen (Glen) Myatt of Omaha. Mrs Hansen was a member of the Congregational church in Harlan and as long as she was able was an active worker in the church. She leaves to mourn her passing, her two daughters, two sisters, Mrs Fred Martensen and Mrs Minnie Brodersen, two brothers, Charles and John Nissen, all of Harlan; also three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
