Description	:	Mrs. Ellen Elizabeth Lindsey Bowen, 91, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was a native of Newry and Seneca, S.C. and a retired production supervisor for the Kendall Company. She was the wife of the late Reverend Elmo Bowen and the daughter of the late George Ellison Lindsey and Olive Morgan Lindsey. In addition to her husband of 49 years, she was predeceased by her daughters, infant Lochlynn Anne Bowen and Patricia Gayle Bowen; sisters Elvira Lindsey, Marian Louise Lindsey and Mozelle Alexander; and brothers William Morgan Lindsey, Carl Benjamin Lindsey and William Eugene... In addition to her husband of 49 years, she was predeceased by her daughters, infant Lochlynn Anne Bowen and Patricia Gayle Bowen; sisters Elvira Lindsey, Marian Louise Lindsey and Mozelle Alexander; and brothers William Morgan Lindsey, Carl Benjamin Lindsey and William Eugene Lindsey. She is survived by her sons, Roderick Carroll Bowen and Timothy Lindsey Bowen (and wife Pamela Jackson Bowen), all of Seneca; and her brother George Ellison Lindsey of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Katherine Elizabeth Bowen Reams (and husband, Reverend Richard Reams) of Seneca; grandson, Joseph Mark Purcell, of Anderson; great-granddaughter, Savannah Logan Butts, of Westminster; and great-grandson, Jordan Purcell of Anderson. She was a godly example of faith and courage to all who knew her and a faithful member and Sunday School teacher of Hopewell Baptist Church. She leaves behind a legacy of Christ-like character and unwavering integrity that has inspired her family and friends. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 28, at the Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home of Seneca. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 29, at 11:00 am at Hopewell Baptist Church of Seneca, with burial following at Oconee Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home of Seneca.
