Sunday Republican (Springfield, MA) - Sunday, October 22, 2000 Ellen "Jean" (Bancroft) Zuchegna Devino, 65, of 464 Main St. and formerly of Springfield, died Friday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She worked in the geriatrics ward at the former Springfield Municipal Hospital and retired in 1988. She had also worked at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in that city's Leeds section, the former Northampton State Hospital and at other hospitals as part of a nursing pool. Born in Chesterfield, she was a graduate of Smith Vocational High School in Northampton and received her training at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. She was a member of the former Grace Baptist Church in Springfield, where she had been active in various groups. She was predeceased by her former husband, Charles Devino Sr. She leaves two sons, David Zuchegna of Virginia Beach, Va., and Charles Devino Jr. of Springfield; two daughters, Nancy Arthur of Easthampton and Donna Blohm of Westfield; four brothers, William Bancroft of Pittsfield, Sydney Bancroft of Dalton, Winston Bancroft of Chesterfield and Edward Bancroft of Westfield; a sister, Mary Lou Rubeck of Northampton; and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday afternoon at Chesterfield Congregational Church, with burial in Center Cemetery in Chesterfield. Calling hours are Tuesday afternoon through evening at Pease Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1111 Elm St., West Springfield, MA 01089.
