Description	:	Ellen K. Monahan was born May 4, 1916 in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to Peter and Anna (Vogt) Jansen, the first born of twins and passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Madonna Rehabilitation in Lincoln at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 30 days. Ellen graduated from Milford High School and on June 24, 1940, she was united in marriage to William Monahan in Nebraska City. To this union three daughters, Bonnie, Beulah "Bee" and Betty were born. Monahan was born May 4, 1916 in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska to Peter and Anna (Vogt) Jansen, the first born of twins and passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Madonna Rehabilitation in Lincoln at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 30 days. Ellen graduated from Milford High School and on June 24, 1940, she was united in marriage to William Monahan in Nebraska City. To this union three daughters, Bonnie, Beulah "Bee" and Betty were born. Ellen worked at Shogo's Restaurant, Newton's Café and McGonagle's Café, all in Milford. During this time, she also cleaned homes in the area and also was employed for a time at the Milford Campus of the Southeast Community College in its cafeteria. Ellen was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church and enjoyed the time spent tending to her garden, especially her flowers. In 1993, she left Milford to live with her daughters, Bonnie and Betty, until her declining health, when she moved into Madonna. Bee was also helpful in the care of her mother. Ellen is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Bonnie and Jim Carr, Douglas, NE, Betty Hergenrader of Holland, MI, her grandchildren and spouses, Bill Bormann, Vaughn Hergenrader, Mark and Amber Hergenrader, David and Jody Hergenrader; great-grandchildren and spouses, Dustin and Jessica (Bormann) Kinnan, Jason and Alicha Bormann, Tessa Hergenrader, Emily, Megan, Griffin, Dexter and Ryder (Hynes) Hergenrader; great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Trevor Kinnan, Alea and Hosa Bormann; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Anna Jansen, husband, William in 1971, daughter, Bee Panagrotis in 2005, brother, Ervin Jansen and her son-in-law, David Hergenrader in 2007. Interment was in Blue Mound Cemetery.
