She died Wednesday, Nov. 24, in the hospice unit of Schoitz Medical Center in Waterloo. Ellen Cory was born in Tama County on July 19, 1914, the daughter of Horace and Mary (Ryan) Cory. She received her education in Tama County schools and Kellogg High School. One June 26, 1937, she married Alfred Walton at Oskaloosa. They spent most of their married lives in Tama County, the last 25 years in Gladbrook. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was a clerk in Gladbrook stores and at S.S. Kresge's in Marshalltown. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. Surviving are three sons, James of Dallas, Texas, Larry of Klamazoo, Mich.; three daughters, Karen Polson of Marshalltown, Mrs. Wendell (Phyllis) Giesking of Reinbeck, and Mrs. Charles (Janice) D'Addiro of Poway, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; four brothers, Arnold of Montour, Don and Bill of San Francisco, Calif., and Allen of Marshalltown; and a sister, Mrs. Wayne (Viola) Richeson of Marshalltown. Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a granddaughter. Special funeral music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wiese. Flower bearers were Ida Bauch and Mrs. And Mrs. Ed Schmitz. Ushers were Wilford Hoing and Raymond Hauschildt.
