Description	:	Mrs. Ellen Lein, 80 who for many years lived in the Hawarden vicinity, died last Wednesday night at the Panska Nursing home following a heart attack. Ellen Mathre was born at Lisbon, Ill., January 4, 1873. Later she moved with her family to Emmet county, Iowa, where she married A.K. Toft at Estherville December 15, 1891. Ellen Mathre was born at Lisbon, Ill., January 4, 1873. Later she moved with her family to Emmet county, Iowa, where she married A.K. Toft at Estherville December 15, 1891. Eight children were born to this union. One son, Knute, preceded her in death. In 1894 the family moved to Sioux County and lived on a farm seven miles northeast of Hawarden in Eagle township. Her husband died April 12, 1922. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and for many years was a member of the Rock River Lutheran church in Eagle township. After the death of Mr. Toft she married Lars Lein of Huxley, Iowa, and lived there until his death Jan 23, 1952. She then moved to Hudson and then to Hawarden. Survivors are seven children, Mrs. Fred Yunker of Rock Valley, Elmer Toft and Mrs. Belmore Benson of Jackson, Minn., Howard Toft of Hudson, Milton Toft of Alcester, Mrs. Oscar Twedt of Roland, Iowa, and Mrs. Edward Olson of Porterville, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Hemminson of Sioux Falls and Mrs. Louis Hoovel of Jaskson, Minn.; two brothers, Oscar Mathre of Lily, S.D., and Clarence Mathre, who lives in California; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren and seven step children, Haldor and Oscar Lein of Montevideo, Minn., Mrs. Tolif Dueland of Nevada, Iowa, Mrs. Roy Larson of Los Angeles, Calif., Lawrence Lein of Ankeny, Iowa, Minard Lein of Groettinger, Iowa, and Orlin Lein of Kelley, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Lutheran church in Hudson, Rev. Christopherson officiating Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery in Hawarden. Pall bearers were Raymond Benson, Albert Wegner, Elmer Treiber, John Klumb, Leo Scheifen and Curtis Richardson. Those from a distance who came to attend the funeral were Mrs. Belmore Benson and son Arnold, Clinton Benson, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Toft and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Johnson and children, Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Hoovel, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hoovel, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Knutson, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elkin and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jacobs, all of Jackson, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Twedt and son of Roland, Iowa, Mrs. Edward Olson of Porterville, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Minard Lein and son of Groettinger, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Tollif Dueland of Nevada, Iowa, Lawrence Lein of Ankeny, Iowa, Orlin Lein of Kelley, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lein of Montevideo, Minn., Mrs. Ida Viland of Beresford, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Martin Toft, Mr. and Mrs. M.G.
