Description	:	Ellen Maxine Padgett Smith, age 85, passed December 1, 2010 in Pensacola. She was born February 21, 1925 in Vredenburgh, Alabama to John Henry and Mary Ellen Taylor Padgett. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mallory Cecil Smith; brothers, Graham, Billy, J. T., and David Padgett; sisters Thelma Padgett, and Eleanor Blackmon. Survivors are her two sons, Steve Randal Smith (Suzanne) and John A. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mallory Cecil Smith; brothers, Graham, Billy, J. T., and David Padgett; sisters Thelma Padgett, and Eleanor Blackmon. Survivors are her two sons, Steve Randal Smith (Suzanne) and John A. "Smitty" Smith (Dale); grandchildren Randal Smith (Ginjer), Lisa Bauer (Mike), Amanda Sanders (Jason), Samantha Smith and Cassandra Langley; great grandchildren, Brittany, Mallory, Matthew, Jayme, Bailee, Rilee, Tori, Brennan, Aislinn, Breanna and Mia. Also surviving are her sister, Mary Lois (Don) Patterson; her brother, Elray Padgett (Ann), sisters-in-law, Mrs. J. T. (Joanne) Padgett; Mrs. David (Vivian) Padgett and Mrs. Juanita Powell, many nieces, nephews and their children. Maxine, a devout Southern Baptist, was a twenty eight year member of Pine Terrace Baptist Church in Milton. Prior to moving to Milton, she belonged to the Highland Baptist Church of Molino. She grew up in the Ponce De Leon area and attended the Baptist church during all her childhood. She was very much loved and will be missed by all of her family and many friends. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Ponce De Leon Cemetery in Ponce De Leon, Florida. Brother Mike Wiggins of Pine Terrace Baptist Church will be officiating. The Smith family extends a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the Covenant Hospice and their wonderful staff for their compassion, care and kindness during Maxine's illness and passing. Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 Hwy. 29S, Cantonment, Fl 32533 is in charge of arrangements.
