Mrs. Roach was one of the oldest residents of Palmyra, coming here as a bride in 1880, from Wisconsin, where she and Mr. Roach first met and in that year were married. Mrs. Roach was one of the oldest residents of Palmyra, coming here as a bride in 1880, from Wisconsin, where she and Mr. Roach first met and in that year were married. Mrs. Roach was born Ellen Murphy in Maryland. At the time of her death she was 77 years of age, having passed that milestone of her life last August. In addition to her husband, John Roach, she is survived by three daughters and four sons, three brothers, several grandchildren and other relatives. The daughters are Mrs. John Mahoney of Palmyra, and the Misses Agnes and Helen Roach; the former resides at home and the latter is employed at Glenwood, Iowa. The sons are: Frank, Richard, John and Ralph Roach, all of whom reside at a distance but Ralph, who is our local druggist. The funeral services were held this Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Rev. Father Hennessy in charge, and internment was made in St. Leo's cemetery.
