Ellen Natalie Nelson was born Jun 24, 1906, to Nathan and Hansena (Knudsen) Nelson at Sandefjord, Norway. In 1909, the family moved to the United States and settled in the Warner area, where she grew up and attended school. For a time, she worked at Woods Grocery in Warner. She married Walter Wiltfang on Oct 20, 1926, at Aberdeen. They made their home in Mansfield. He died Nov 19, 1983. She had continued to make Mansfield her home. She was a member of Mansfield Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Ladies Aid, American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Birthday Club and the Senior Citizens in Mellette. Survivors include one son, Daryle Wiltfang of Mansfield; one daughter, Mrs Charles (Dorraine) Aggen of Mountain Home, ID; one brother, Norman Nelson of Federal Way, WA; two sisters, Nanna Wattnem of Aberdeen and Genevieve Williamson of Cottonwood, CA; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, two brothers and one sister. Honary casketbearers were all of her grandchildren. Casketbearers were Bob Palmer, Ken Beckel, Jim Lust, Duane Angerhofer, Dennis Fuhrman and Lyle Fuhrman. Organist was Bonnie Palmer and soloist was Ronald Hedges. Ushers were Melvin Eske and Dale Nash.
