Burial was in the Central City cemetery. Mrs. T. Leo Stines, organist accompanied Miss Diane Reeves and Mrs. Michael Ferguson when they sang "How Great Tho Art." Pallbearers were LeRoy Kleve, Leroy Dexter, Lawrence Veed, Michael Reeves, James Sheppard, and Michael Ferguson. Mrs. Sheppard died early Sunday morning in the Aurora hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born August 16, 1889 in Copenhagen, Denmark, the daughter of Rasmus and Cecilia Anderson Hansen. The family came to Los Angeles, Calif. in 1907, where she attended the Los Angeles public schools. She was married to Charles A. Sheppard on November 29, 1915 in Santa Ana, Calif. The couple lived in California until he was discharged from the US Navy after service in World War I. They came to Nebraska and settle in the Norfolk community in the early 1920s. Mr. Sheppard was a widely known music instructor. He taught in Norfolk and Humphrey high schools before coming to Central City where he taught in the Central City and clarks school systems until his death in 1941. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Sheppard returned to California where she operated in a millinery shop. Ill health forced her to return to Nebraska in 1961. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Barton (Barbara) Reeves of Central City; a son Charles (Patricia) Sheppard of Omaha seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents two infant sons, her husband and one brother.
