Ellen was born in Chrisney, Indiana on March 28, 1920 to the late Walter and Neva (Miller) Ayer. She was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church and the Ladies Organization. Ellen worked at Servel in Evansville, Indiana during the war effort in WWII. She had been a beautician in Chrisney for many years. Ellen was born in Chrisney, Indiana on March 28, 1920 to the late Walter and Neva (Miller) Ayer. She was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church and the Ladies Organization. Ellen worked at Servel in Evansville, Indiana during the war effort in WWII. She had been a beautician in Chrisney for many years. Ellen and her husband Roger were members of the Eagles in Evansville and enjoyed dancing there. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Schroeder in 2006; Grandson, Robbie McCollum in 2012; Siblings, Marie Lockhart, Nila Muesing, and Ethel Ayer. Ellen is survived by her children, Dianna McCollum of Cincinnati, OH; Steve Schroeder and his wife, Elaine of Chrisney, IN; Grandchildren, Kim Dietz, Tracy Knight and her husband, Mike; Jill Ludwig, Keith Schroeder, and Brad Schroeder and his wife, Winda; 7 Great-grandchildren and 3 Great-great-grandchildren; Sister, Elda Rae Holder. Services are 10 A. M. Monday, October 5, 2020 at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home Youngblood Chapel at 36 E. Market St. Chrisney, IN 47611 with Pastor Clint Fink officiating. Burial is in Oak Hill Cemetery in Chrisney. Visitation is from 2 P.M. until 5 P.M. Sunday, October 4, 2020 and from 9 A.M. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home in Chrisney. Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone United Methodist Church and Heart to Heart Hospice.
