She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David M. Roberts of this city and the sympathy of the entire community goes out toward them in this sad bereavement coming as it does in their old age. The brothers and sisters of the deceased are Richard Roberts, New Cambria, Mo., David, Samuel and William Roberts west of this town, Mrs. Edward Jones, New Cambria, Mo., and Mrs. Wm. Richards north east of town. They have the deepest sympathy of their large circle of friends. Mrs. Figg was 39 years, 4 months and 10 days of age, taken away in the very zenith of life. She was born at Fiestiniog, Merionethshire, North Wales and was brought to this country with her parents when she was between 10 and 11 years old. She has resided here ever since. When about the age of 25 she was married to Daniel Figg, a respectable resident of this community. She was a very amiable lady, a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, most energetic and frugal in her home and one apparently in the enjoyment of a strong constitution and good health, "Her Sun is gone down, while it was yet day." Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Figg. Four are living, the eldest a girl nearly twelve years old and three boys. Their bereavement is very sad, and all hearts feel for them. The loss of a mother is untold and to have her taken away from a large family of young children is a great mystery and trial. It is a great comfort to think they are in a country and a community which is instinct with Christian sympathy, kindness and help. Mr. Figg has our deepest sympathy. He has lost a noble and affectionate wife and great care and responsibility have come to rest with him. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, this afternoon. Rev. Stark, of Genoa Bluffs, will conduct a brief service at the house. At two o'clock services will be held at the M.E. church in this city, conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. J. Pike, and assisted by Rev. A. Jones, of the Congregational church.
