The service will be at 2 o'clock at Walker Funeral home in Clarinda and burial in the Baker cemetery near Norwich. Mrs Harland was formerly Ellen Snodderly and was the last survivor of a large family of children. She was born in Page county, and has been in Yorktown for many years. Mrs Harland was formerly Ellen Snodderly and was the last survivor of a large family of children. She was born in Page county, and has been in Yorktown for many years. Mr Harland survives, having his sister with him in the home here since Mrs Harland became ill. Mrs Harland had passed her 90th birthday last February 9 and Mr Harland is only a little younger than she. CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Nov 10, 1949 Ellen Snodderly Harland was born on a farm in Page county, on February 9, 1859, and died at Clarinda on November 9, 1949. The entire ninety years of her life were spent within five and a half miles of the log house, where she was born, in the Yorktown community. In December of 1906 she was united in marriage to Isaac Harland. In later years she cared for her parents and eldest sister as long as they lived, and she also helped other members and friends of the family when illness came. As a young woman she was converted in Free Methodist camp meetings held in a timber northeast of Norwich community. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, Matthew, John, George, Henry, William, Galen, Samuel; five sisters: Hazie, Elizabeth Parlinda, Mary and Ann. She is survived by her husband Isaac, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held November 11 at the Walker Funeral Home, conducted by Rev Arthur Marston of Shambaugh. Music was by Miss Aletha Hutchings. Casket bearers were James Preston, T.W. Copeland, John Snyder, John Knollenberg, Dallas Copeland, and Martin Erickson.
