Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Jerry Gilbreath officiating. There will be a lunch following the service in the church fellowship room. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Rosehill Cemetery at Emerson, Neb. Ellis was born June 9, 1925, in Waterbury, Neb., the son of Amos I. and Elizabeth (Laird) Linafelter. He met the love of his life, Mildred T. Purucker at a barn dance at Waterbury, Neb. They were married June 2, 1948, in Allen, Neb. The couple farmed in the Waterbury area for 32 years before moving to South Sioux City in 1980. He then was employed at Sioux City Brick and Tile until retiring. After his retirement, he delivered Meals on Wheels for the South Sioux City Senior Center until he was 80 years old. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City and the South Sioux City Senior Center. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and playing pool at the Senior Center. He cherished the time he had with his family, grandchildren and friends. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; a son, Gene and his wife, Cheryl of Ponca, Neb.; two daughters and their husbands, Kendra and Dennis Victor of Emerson, and Kaye and Stanly McAfee of Waterbury; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, Crystal Linafelter and son, Stockton, Joshua Linafelter, Angela (Dan) Marcum and children, Isaac and Mariah Marcum, Justin Victor and son, Colton Victor, Derek and Brandon Victor, Tiffany (Rich) Lamprecht and children, Noah, Gabriel and Mason Lamprecht, Blake (Rachel) McAfee and children, Ellie and Avery McAfee, Joel (Jenna) McAfee and children, Daveigh and Drake McAfee and Cody McAfee. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Justin Victor, Joel McAfee, Joshua Linafelter, Blake McAfee, Derek Victor, Cody McAfee and Brandon Victor. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Crystal Linafelter, Angela Marcum and Tiffany Lamprecht.
