OBITUARY: Ellis Warren Ellis N. Warren, the son of Harley and Verda (Skinner) Warren, was born at Giltner, Nebraska, on May 10, 1931, and died at Corpus Christi, Texas, on September 26, 1994, at the age of 63 years, 4 months, and 16 days. He grew up in the Giltner and Aurora area and graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1949. On August 25, 1962, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Rose Marie Joyce at Aurora. He and his family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1976. In 1986, he retired from Champlin Petroleum, where he served as the Director of Public Relations, and was currently associated with Garron Dean and Associates, Realtors. He was an active member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, where he served as president of the Men's Council, and wherever else needed. He is currently a member of St. Pius Catholic Church. He served as president of the Food Bank and was very active with the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, and treasured his association with the Mustangs, where he could help show community pride. One of Ellis' favorite quotes was borrowed from Jimmie Storm, when Mr. Storm said "Nothing else in life is really lasting except what you do for others. The rest just doesn't matter very much." This, in essence, was the way Ellis lived his life and would like to be remembered in the hearts of all his friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his older brother Ed. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Rose Marie of Corpus Christi, Texas; one son Jon and his wife Amy of Austin, Texas; 2 daughters, Kelly Warren of Wilmington, Delaware, and Kimberly Wanek and her husband Tom of Grand Island; one brother Russel and his wife Janice of Phillips; 3 sisters, Nellie Olson of Hastings, Glenda Wilson of Omaha, and Marjorie Snodgrass of Lincoln, and numerous relatives and friends.
