Description	:	Killed in a Railroad Wreck. In a head-on collision of two Missouri Pacific trains at Lane, Kansas, last Friday evening, June 7, Engineer Ellsworth Bumgarner was killed outright and Fireman Davis sustained injuries from which he has since died. Mr. Bumgarner is well known in Council Grove and vicinity, having been raised on a farm on Munkres Creek. Subsequently he engaged in the railroad business here and remained here the larger portion of his railroad life. Having been married twice , one child from each union mourns the loss of a tender father. His former wife, a daughter of Jas. Graham, of this place, preceded him years ago. He leaves a dutiful wife to mourn the departure of a husband who was true and steadfast in his devotion to her. His parents who live on Munkres Creek are deprived of an obedient son. "Ells," as he was called by all the railroad boys, was one of the most popular of railroad men. His jovial disposition and agreeable bearings made him well-liked by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at his late residence in Osawatomie, Kansas, Sunday, June 9 at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Otto of the M. E. Church, after which the remains were shipped to this place, arriving here at 4:05. A special coach was attached to accommodate those who accompanied the remains. At the depot the B. of L. E., K. of L., and G. I. A. took charge of the body and marched to the cemetery where internment was made. It was one of the largest funerals seen here for many days.
