Westlund, 79 of Dows, were held on Sunday, March 23, 1975 at 2 p.m. from the Presbyterian Church in Dows. Rev. David A. The Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Westlund died after suffering a heart attack at his home on Thursday evening. He was born at Superior, Wisconsin on March 12, 1896 and was the son of Adolph and Hannah Westlund and moved with his family to Dows at the age of fourteen. He served with the U.S. Army in World War #1. For many years he worked at the M. S. Gunderson Company in Dows and later was a partner. For 23 years he was the Postmaster at Dows until his retirement in 1966. At the time of his death he was serving in his 21st year as the town clerk. On February 28, 1923 he was united in marriage to Alma Golackson at Dows and she survives. He is also survived by two children, Mrs. Jack (Mary Ann) Krupicka of Dubuque and Tom of Salt Lake City, Utah. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Anna Shogren of Turlock, California. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Westlund was a member of the Presbyterian Church and had in the past held several offices include Trustee.
