The Jefferson County death record, however (also inspected in person by this contributor), indicated that incorrect DOB information was originally supplied and recorded. The DOB was originally entered as Nov. 7, 1907. The source for that information is not entirely clear, but whomever provided that information may also have been responsible, directly or indirectly, with the DOB inscription error of 1907. At some point the "1907" DOB entry on the death record was crossed out and "1906" now is overwritten. Presumably the error was detected and corrected, with the caveat that per Recorder office rules such changes in vital records can only be made by office staff under court direction. Although this memorial was originally entered with the DOB year 1907 per the headstone inscription, per the edit request and the review of the original birth and death vital records, the DOB for this memorial is being changed to Nov. 7, 1906. //rkt June 1, 2017 Son of Frank L. SCOTT DIED YESTERDAY Taken To Jefferson County Hospital Jan.2; Funeral Tomorrow Afternoon Elmer Bryan Scott, 20 year old son of Frank L. Scott, 7 miles north of the city, passed away yesterday afternoon at 3:30 oclock (sic) at the Jefferson County hospital where he had been ill with pleurisy and complications for the past ten days. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at one oclock (sic) from the Moyer church in charge of Rev. H. E. Butler. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery. He was born Nov. 7, 1906 at his home north of the city. His mother passed away four years ago last June. He is a graduate of the Fairfield High School with the class of 1923 and for the past year has been with the Auto Triangle company. The father and two sisters Mrs. Clarence McCormick of Beckwith and Miss Hazel at home survive.
