Description	:	Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Fremont Methodist church for Clay Norris, longtime resident of this community. Dr. Theodore H. Leonard was in charge of the service. Mrs. Grace Harlan played the piano and pallbearers were Floyd Rhoads, Ward Rhoades, Mac Lee, Roy Helm, Clark Williams and Ward Hoffman. He was born January 8, 1868 in Mahaska County, the youngest son of John F. and Laura Haskell Norris. On March 7, 1899 he was united in marriage to Blanche Libby at Oskaloosa, IA. To this union were born 3 children; Maude, John E. and Herald L. After living on farms near Rose Hill, Dows, and Wright, they moved in 1917 to a farm 5 miles south of Fremont where they resided for 20 years before moving to Fremont. Mr. Norris was preceeded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, and 4 brothers. He leaves to mourn his loss; his wife Blanche: a daughter, Maude C. Norris of Denver, CO; 2 sons, John E. of Fremont and Herald L. Of Farson; a brother, H. G. Norris of Oskaloosa; 5 grandchildren: Keith, Kenneth, Mary Ellen, Lee and Jay; one great grandson, Larry; also a number of nieces and nephews.
