ELMER VEEDER A VICTIM Cairo, Neb., Mar. 7 - Elmer Veeder, a well known citizen of Hall county, residing on a farm about five miles from Cairo, was shot and instantly killed last night about 6 o'clock. Mr. Veeder had told members of the family that he was going out to shoot a rabbit for supper, and in going through the orchard which is thickly matted with weeds and underbrush, stumbled and fell, both barrels of his shotgun going off, blowing off part of his skull, his hat being found in a tree. Members of the family heard a shot and called ... Receiving no reply, they rushed to him and found him dead. No inquest will be held as it is purely a case of accidental shooting. Mr. Veeder was 54 years of age, and was a member of the O.O.U.W. lodge. Besides his heartbroken wife, he leaves two grown sons and one daughter to mourn his untimely loss. The funeral will take place from the home, one and one-fourth miles south and four miles west of Cairo, on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, interment being made in the Cairo cemetery. . . Mr. Veeder had been a resident of this county for more than thirty years. . .
